Brussels is the capital city of Belgium
and the capital of Europe Union where a lot of decisions are taken for
European countries. Belgium is divided in three parts, the German
speakers, French speakers and Flemish speakers. Brussels was after the
second world II an important place for international politics. There are
in Brussels large number attractions as parks; one of the popular parks
is the Brussels Park or Warandepark, often the park is miscalled Park
Royal. Brussels Park is also the largest park in Brussels centre and is
surrounded by the Royal Palace. The Astrid Park is a public park in
Anderlecht inaugurated in 1911 which was named Parc du Meir and 1935 the
Mayor of Anderlecht decided to change the name in honour of Astrid of
Sweden. Other parks in Brussels and its surrounding are: Bois de la
Cambre, Tenbosch, Ixelles Ponds, Vauxhall Kunstber, Heysel Park, Malou
Park, Josaphat Park. Other attractions of Brussels are Manneken Pis,
Atomium, Mini Europe, Grand Place the famous town square in Brussels. |
