Havana is the capital and largest city of Cuba. Havana is considered to be the most oldest and beautiful city in the west, it was also a well known winter destination for the tourists before the advent of communism. The oldest part of the city is with narrow streets old buildings and lot of historical landmarks. A big part of Havana has been modernized with magnificent houses and many ancestral houses have been transformed into student hostels and government facilities. On the above can be the El Capilio which is located in the capital city of Cuba. It is a neoclassical building and the construction was completed in 1929. In the past it was the seat of the government and now it it is the Cuban Academy of Sciences. Cuba had as President Fidel Castro for many years and since 2008 because of illness problem he transferred his powers to his brother.
