Egypt
is known to the land of pharaohs and pyramids. Actually the word pharaoh
was not used by the ancient Egyptians; it was mainly used by the Hebrews
and the Greeks. And nowadays the word pharaoh is used for the ancient
kings of Egypt. It is said by the historians that the Pharaohs became
Egyptian gods. Pharaoh means “Great House” which referred to the palaces
of the kings and along the Egyptian history course the word pharaoh had
been used for the kings of Egypt. In the bible the first pharaoh
mentioned is Shishaq. Pharaoh was used for male or females in ancient
Egypt. Here some of the popular pharaohs in Egypt: Hatshepsut, Tuthmosis
III, Akhenaten, Alexander the Great, Cleopatra VII, Tuthankhamun,
Ramesses the Great. Tuthankamun was as popular as other pharaohs until
the discovery of his tomb in 1922 by Howard Carter; Tuthankamun had
actually a short reign. While visiting Egypt one will learn about the
