Since 2009 it is the largest banking group in the world. The HSBC Holdings was founded in 1990 and became then the parent company of The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation. There is in the world 9,500 offices in 86 different countries, the main markets are in Asia Pacific, America and Europe. It also exists the HSBC Private Bank, the HSBC Bank In ternational, The HSBC Premier, HSBC Direct and HSBCnet. The logo of the HSBC was designed by the graphic artist Henry Steiner and he is world renowned as graphic designer. The design was based on the Saint Andrew’s cross because of the nationality of the founder.
