Reunion is a small island located in the Indian Ocean, it is often called sister island to Mauritius Islands. The small island is often referred to mini Hawaii. As Mauritius Island, Reunion Island is also in origin volcanic. Compared to Mauritius, Reunion is mostly mountainous. One of the main attractions of the island is the Piton de La Fournaise, an active volcanic which quite often rejects its lava. Large number of tourists go the island to see when the volcano is in eruption because it is just spectacular. But as visitor, it is not allowed to go too near of the volcano as it is quite dangerous even though some adventurous try to approach the volcano as near as they can. As Mauritius, Reunion is surrounded with beaches but there is not a lot of sandy beaches around the island. For those who like sunbathing the most popular area is St Gilles les Baines with 20kilometers of golden sandy beaches Reunion is considered as Europe and uses a currency the euro as it is under France control.
