Big Ben is known to everyone in the world and everybody knows that one is talking about London, capital of United Kingdom and England. Actually it is a nickname given to the Clock Tower at the north east end of the Palace of Westminster. In the world Big Ben third tallest free standing tower clock and the largest four faced chiming clock. A clock tower has been built in 1288 at Westminster and the present one has been done by Charles Barry when the old Palace of Westminster was destroyed in 1834 by fire. Charles Barry was a popular English architect and famous for the rebuilding of the Palace of Westminster. With time the clock has become a symbol for United Kingdom and London and every one recognize the place when the Tower Clock is seen, it is as the Eifel Tower for France, the Brandenburger Tor for Germany.
