The Buckingham Palace is the official residence in London of the British
monarch. The Buckingham Palace is located in the City of Westminster;
the palace is one of the main tourist attractions of the country. The
present monarch of the United Kingdom is Elizabeth II who is reigned on
the country since 1952. Originally the Buckingham palace was known as
the Buckingham House which was a big town house construction for the
Duke of Buckingham in 1703 and in 1761 was acquired by George III called
then “The Queen’s House” and was a private residence. Over the next
seventy-five the townhouse was enlarge mainly by the architects Edward
Blore and John Nash. On the ascension of Queen Victoria in 1837 the
palace became then the official royal palace of the British Monarch. The
palace had also a chapel which has been destroyed during the Second
World War by a German bomb.
